What a week we have before us!

Tuesday -- Practice as normal FINALLY!  ....Bring your awards from this past weekend for "show and tell"!  I want to give everyone heads up that our Middle Schoolers will be joining us for practices now!  Their season ended this weekend in  grand fashion by winning the 37th Annual Livingston Tournament!  We do not have a clue how busy the room is going to get!!  We are going to be keeping our eye on this and will adjust things as needed!  If you have any concerns regarding the practices, please let us know!! 

 

We will be taking wrestling pictures on the 21st during practice.  I will have order forms in the wrestling room starting Tuesday!

Thursday -- Practice as normal!  I will more than likely NOT be at this practice.  There is a varsity meet in Woodbury.  If you need something, please feel free to email or call me. 

 

Friday  -- This is our Youth Night / Middle School Recognition Night / All Club Photo Night at the Varsity Home Meet.  All Youth Wrestlers are able to attend the Varsity Meet for FREE so long as they are wearing Hastings Wrestling Apparel!!  I am going to ask the Varsity group to tape off a section of the bleachers for our youth families to sit together.  PLEASE do so!!  Also, as a reminder, we can not have our wrestlers running around the school.  They need to stay in the gym area.  This Youth Night is sponsored by the High School.  We do not want this great night to be taken away from us because our youth are being maniacs!

Our Middle Schoolers are recognized during the varsity meet Thursday which is GREAT for our youth to see where they will be in a year or two (or three or more...LOL).  

Also, we will be taking our 3rd Annual All Club Photo!!!  The All Club Photo is the photo I use for our Facebook page and it is also on our website!  PLEASE have your wrestler attend this event.  We are documenting our wrestling tradition with a photo!  I would hate for any of our youth to miss out on this!  Be sure to bring your cameras!!!

Saturday -- 9U State Team Tournament at the High School!  I would appreciate it if our Youth parents would please either make a pan of bars or cookies for the coaches room.  Donations should be brought to the high school auditorium entrance area by 10 a.m. 

 

I am still looking for volunteers to work the coaches room on Saturday.  Two of my three wrestlers will be competing that day.  I want to watch them compete (as you would if your wrestler was wrestling).  I am asking that parents contact me if they can help out by working the coaches room for a couple of hours on Saturday.  I REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP!!!! 

 

Remember, some day your wrestler is going to compete at this 9U State event and the Youth parents will be doing all of the donating.  What goes around comes around!!!    

Sunday -- HASTINGS YOUTH MN USA STATE QUALIFIER TOURNAMENT!!!  Here is a link to the tournament information.  http://theguillotine.com/wp/hastings-mnusa-folkstyle-state-qualifier/.  Tell all of the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends that live in and around Hastings to come cheer on your wrestler!  No other tournaments are closer to home than ours!!!!!!

 

We NEED all parents to volunteer to help us run this tournament!!  Volunteers at this tournament is what makes the Hastings tournament the BEST one in the area!  I PROMISE you will be able to watch your wrestler while he wrestle even though you are helping work the tournament!!  I need parents for the following duties:  registration (8 parents), membership table (2 parents), admissions (2 parents), bracket writing (4 parents), and awards table (3 parents).  I will be forming all of the brackets and would appreciate it if I could get one person to help me as needed doing whatever needs to be done.  

 

COACHES -- I am planning on ALL of you working the tournament also!  I am planning on coaches to do weigh-ins, skin checks, staging, etc.  If you are NOT planning on coming to the tournament on Sunday, I need to know ASAP!!

I want to take a second to remind everyone that with all of the crud floating around, if your wrestler is sick....leave him home!  We need your wrestler to be healthy in order to compete AND we do not want to give whatever crud your son has to another wrestler!  Also, our varsity wrestlers are in the wrestling room every day and we do NOT want to get one of them sick.  They are in the midst of their season and are ramping up for the State High School Tournament!!  Let's keep everyone healthy!

Lastly, THANK YOU to all of you!  Without you and your dedication to Hastings Wrestling, our club would be nothing!  Thank you for keeping the tradition of Hastings Wrestling alive!
